These are some examples of the kind of knowledge you can find online if you scour the web. Just because it's not on here doesn't mean it doesn't exist. That said, your best bet for finding excellent information on any given topic is by using single-word, extremely specific search terms, such as "aeronautical engineering," and inputting that exact same search term in various different forums and search engines, not to mention library catalogs.

SOME UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES ALLOW PUBLIC ACCESS. If there is one near your location, you can pick any given book from the stacks and study it in there.

I no longer recommend www.archive.org due to the technical issues and poor quality of texts, plus the hassle of actually trying to read a book that is on a waiting list for some reason. Also, it logs you out every two minutes. I'm not even kidding. Just go to a regular library, or buy a book online from www.halfpricebooks.com or www.alibris.com; it's less of a headache. Many libraries have ebooks, but reading them is a pain in the ass.
