Okay here's one just for fun. Keep your intentions pure and work from the heart.
I like to do all magic in sacred space. In general, nature is sacred space, so you only have to ask for personal protection when working magic out there unless the vibes are bad. If forced to work indoors, the easiest way to make sacred space is to consecrate incense or perfume. To consecrate it, hold your hands over it and say, will, and mean, "Universe, I cleanse this item of all negativity, and consecrate it in the name of all that is good." Or you can simply pray for the stuff to be cleansed and consecrated. The latter option is better if you don't have a lot of practice. Then you burn the incense or spray the perfume in a clockwise direction around the area while willing or praying for the area to be cleansed and consecrated and voila, sacred space.
Once you are in sacred space, ask the Divine or the Universe, or your spirit guides, to please guide, empower, and protect you in the work ahead. As you are working (raising energy), you can ask for further help if you feel stuck. You can ask for this aloud or in your head, depending on how clear your thinking is.
Hold your hands together in a prayer position and focus on one kind of good vibe you'd like to send out to the universe. Perhaps healing, or happiness, or protection for the innocent, or something like that. Get a fix on the exact feeling of that vibe. Once you feel it, charge it up in your hands, and release it to the skies. Fling it out there. Ask the Universe, the Divine, or whatever you believe in to take the energy you have released, purify it of all negativity it might accidentally have within it, multiply it by infinity and disperse it throughout the universe.
